Dog Track: March to the Town Hall

PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE TO TIMES
There’s a march organised from Walthamstow Greyhound Stadium, Chingford Road, to the Town Square at the top of the market on 16 August 2008 at 12pm.

Please meet at the dog track before 12pm and please spread the word. All friends and family welcome.

In May 2008 news broke that Walthamstow’s iconic greyhound stadium had been sold to property developers and is closing on August 16 2008. The stadium opened in 1933 and is one of the best loved greyhound tracks in Europe. It’s also a local landmark which puts Walthamstow and Waltham Forest on the map. For years family’s have been visiting the stadium for a fun, friendly and safe night out.

Recently in the last few weeks a consortium of busimen and interested parties have put in an offer to buy the stadium back from the property developers. See local MP Neil Gerrard, consortium leader and trainer Ricky Holloway and other consortium members layout their bid to crowds outside the stadium on Thursday 31 July 2008.
